On the other hand, compared with the other billet, due to the shape characteristics of the slab, the temperature distribution of the billet during production is more uneven, the control requirements of inclusions and bubbles are more stringent, and the defects such as surface cracks and corner cracks are more likely to occur, which puts forward higher requirements for the precise control of the billet quality.

According to the simulation of flow field between tundish and crystallizer, the optimal form of tundish flow control device and the shape of submerged nozzle are given.
According to the temperature field simulation of the whole process, the variation law of surface temperature field is calculated, and the appropriate formula and cutting form of secondary cooling water are given.
Based on the coupling calculation of electromagnetic field and temperature field, the optimum electromagnetic stirring parameters of the mold, the shape of the slab liquid core and the solidification end point are obtained, and then the optimum roller electromagnetic stirring position and parameters are given.

A Typical Example of Slab Casting Machine Design
In order to solve the contradiction between furnace and machine matching, production section and output mutual restriction, MCC Southern Continuous Casting Company based on the equipment composition and structural form of traditional double-flow slab casting machine, broke the routine on the basis of reference, and carried out innovation and optimization for supporting devices such as flow field of intermediate tank, hydraulic vibration unit layout and roll layout. The three-machine, three-flow straight arc type continuous bending/straightening slab casting machine is designed, which is the first in the world and can flexibly match with the rapid smelting cycle of large converter.
After the completion of the project, it has been in full load production for a long time, with a working speed of 1.70m/min, a daily output of more than 9500t, exceeding the design capacity by 15%. Through the hot exchange operation of the intermediate tank, the continuous pouring cycle can reach 170 hours, which perfectly matches the rapid smelting cycle of the large converter. At the same time, the surface of the casting billet has no defects, the internal quality is good, and the output of high-quality strip steel is stable.
