Due to the perfect coordination of the contractor’s equipment engineering construction, planning and site supervision with thyssenKrupp’s civil work, construction, lifting and energy distribution, the problems caused by the aging of the production line (in operation for about 20 years in Turin Da) and the obsolescence of the design were successfully overcome. However, a careful survey of the Turin site is necessary to assess the state of the existing equipment prior to upgrading and rearrangement at the new site. The project is designed and carried out in full accordance with thyssenKrupp’s requirements:
A) Modernizing the workshop and making any possible improvements to minimize changes in production line layout and avoid major changes to operator interfaces, standard process books and process procedures;
B) Replace obsolete equipment to improve strip quality;
C) Minimizing environmental impact;
D) Minimum amount of civil engineering work.
In accordance with these requirements, civil engineering, equipment installation and commissioning time, and final commissioning operations can be minimized to achieve the same level of productivity and quality as before the retrofit, followed by commissioning to improve product quality and a small number of future upgrades to increase productivity.
The main technical parameters of the production line are as follows: The production line can handle hot rolled and cold rolled stainless steel strip (AISI 200, 300, 400 series stainless steel and titanium strip), the thickness of the hot rolled strip is 2mm~7mm, the thickness of the cold strip is 1.3mm~5mm, and the bandwidth is 600mm~1500mm. The maximum production line is 50t/h cold rolled strip.
