In terms of stainless steel products, in order to reflect the texture of metal materials and make the surface of metal products beautiful and smooth, many companies will carry out some special surface treatments, such as the common stainless steel wire drawing process. Stainless steel wire drawing is the processing of drawing effect on stainless steel products. It has become a very popular surface treatment technology.
Since it is an industrial process, it will inevitably use lubricants. In the metal wire drawing process, since the surface of the stainless steel is smooth and the roughness is low, the lubrication is more difficult and the requirements for the lubricant are also higher. We can see that the quality of the lubricant directly determines the quality of the stainless steel and the surface finish, which is the key to the quality of stainless steel wire drawing.
So, what kind of lubricant can enhance the process of stainless steel wire drawing?
The drawing process usually has oily drawing and dry drawing. Therefore, the lubricants they use are also classified into two types, oily and dry. In general, a final product with a diameter of less than 0.1 mm needs to be annealed once or twice. If the diameter is less than 0.21mm wire, using oil-based lubricant drawing, the mold can choose artificial diamond mold or natural diamond mold. In the drawing of large diameter steel wire, we generally use ordinary tungsten steel molds.
It is worth noting that before the drawing of stainless steel, most of the wire surface needs special coating treatment. This is mainly to increase the surface roughness and improve the ability of soap powder to carry, thus solving the problem of stainless steel surface is too smooth. Compared to traditional oxalate treatments, non-reactive coatings are currently used more often, and calcium-based wire-pulling powder is generally used when the coated wire rods are first drawn. Coupled with the storage needs during the production process, it also puts high demands on its moisture-proof performance. CONDAT’s VICAFILTS series of non-reactive coatings can respond well.
Compared with the traditional oxalic acid coating, VICAFILTS series has four advantages:
1 The surface coating is uniform, and has good adhesion and carrying soap powder;
2 In a shorter processing time, the equipment investment is lower, at the same time The production process is also more environmentally friendly;
3 It has good moisture resistance;
4 It can meet the needs of high-speed drawing.
