Definition of Stainless Steel Sheet
It is a way to make stainless steel sheets deformed by machinery. Different machines may bring varified changes to the sheets. Also, the sheets’ kind will have some influence on the bending results. These machines apply preasure on steel sheets with different power system, such as press brake and ironworker. All in all, as the literal definition, bending stainless steel sheet is to make the sheets bent by some machiney that are needed, and adpted to producers requirements. And which kind of bending machine would be used is concerned with tensile strength and ductility. And we need to make our decision according to the parameters of the project.
Methods to Bend
The key to deciding whether the bending results could reach the standard we need, is the angel and radium. Thus, we should carefully manufacture and choose bending machinery. Main methods include V-Bending, Roll Bending, U-Bending, Rotary Bending and Edge Bending, these five methods. Let’s have a skim of them below.
V-Bending
This method will deform the stainless steel sheets into a V-shape. Thus, the bending machinery is V-shaped, also. And this is the most common method, the V-shaped Stainless steel sheets are widely used in our lives.
Roll Bending
This method will use three rolls to curl the sheets. Two small rolls of the same size are below, and the bigger one is on the top of the machinery to work together, dying the stainless steel sheets.
U-Bending
Same as V-Bending, U-Bending needs a U-shaped workpiece to die and reshape the sheets. You can produce different U-shaped machinery to rebuild the sheets.
Rotary Bending
The final profile is similar to the V-Bending. But the corner is smoother. Thus, this method needs two parts to work together. One is the press part for punch, another one is the support part for shaping.
Edge Bending
Just like the literal definition, the machinery needed is like the edge. There are three parts of it. Die, punch and pressure pad. Die is at the bottom, as the model. Pressure pad presses and fixes the sheets. Punch presses the sheet along the other side of the die.
Bending Stainless Steel Sheet Usage
The workpieces processed by bending are the basic components to build the common facilities we usually meet in daily life. Not all materials can be immediately reshaped when producing industrial facilities, or the consequence will not be very well. Bending stainless steel sheets before the assemble procedures would definitely improve the efficiency and quality.
