Stainless steel surface processing is more common, usually drawing, mirror and so on.
Among them, the stainless steel mirror panel is a very common metal decoration material, we can often see it in public places or large-scale entertainment facilities.
However, the stainless steel mirror products processed and sold in the market are different for various reasons, and the effects after being processed into mirror surfaces are uneven.
Then, what causes this “chaos”?
The stainless steel mirror plate is commonly referred to “8K”, and the “8” in “8K” refers to the proportion of alloying components (304 stainless steel mainly refers to the content of nickel element). “K” means that the reflectivity after polishing is achieved. The grade (class K is specular reflection grade). The 8K mirror is the mirror grade of the chromium-nickel alloy steel.
The common mirror stainless steel has been extended to 6K, 10K, 12K, etc. due to the different levels of fineness required by customers, and the larger the number defined, the higher the fineness of the mirror. 6K refers to a rough-grinded and polished mirror plate, whose effect is slightly inferior to the mirror; 10K refers to a fine-grinding and polishing mirror plate, which can be comparable to ordinary mirrors; and 12K refers to a super-fine-grinding and polishing mirror plate, which can satisfy optical applications.
Under normal circumstances, after the brightly annealed BA surface and the passivated 2B surface stainless steel are processed to remove the oxide layer on the surface of the stainless steel, the “original” color of the metal is revealed to be a mirror surface. At present, stainless steel processing mirror mainly through electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing and mechanical polishing three ways; its first two methods, although very good results, but the cost is high, inefficient. Although the effect of the mechanical grinding and polishing method is slightly inferior to the first two methods, the convenience and high efficiency of the operation become the preferred method for the stainless steel mirror processing.
